Lyda Kate Wilhoit, 85, Tusculum Place, died Tuesday at Life Care Center of Greeneville.

Miss Wilhoit retired after 37 years of service from Magnavox.

She enjoyed yard work and was an excellent cook.

She was of the Methodist faith

Survivors include three sisters and two brothers-in-law: Blonda Snapp, Wanda and Billy Jeff Burns, and Carole and Ray Ellenburg; four brothers and three sisters-in-law: Haskell Wilhoit, J.D. and Katie Wilhoit, Hoover and Carol Wilhoit, and Gene and Charlotte Wilhoit; her nieces: Temple Wilhoit, Brenda Fillers, Vona Brotherton, Kema Woolsey, Joni Parker, Lori Coggins, Gina Conaway, and Jill Casey; her nephews: Victor Wilhoit, Robin Wilhoit, Marty Wilhoit, Brian Wilhoit, and Steve Burns; and several great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, great-great-nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Lee and Flora Wilhoit; two sisters: Letha Wilhoit and Nebraska Wilhoit; and a niece: Phyllis Broyles.

The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. Friday at Jeffers Funeral & Cremation Service, Afton Chapel.

The funeral service will follow at 3 o'clock in the Afton Chapel with interment in Hermon United Methodist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Lynn Neas will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Ray Ellenburg, Bobby Fillers, Brian Wilhoit, Ben Woolsey, Victor Wilhoit, David Parker, Michael Brotherton, and Joe Broyles.

Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Jeff Burns, Steve Burns, Daniel Woolsey, Kenton Brotherton, Trey Whitfield, Robin Wilhoit, and Marty Wilhoit.
